I have a 6906 dated November 2006. On the right hand side of the pistol (on the slide, barrel and frame) is "A 1395". Can anyone help me figuring out what the significance of these markings is? Thinking it may be linked to an agency (I may be wrong). Thank you in advance for your help. Please see picture.

More than likely an agency or LE gun. Many of those are marked like that so if 20 guys are on the bench cleaning their duty arm after training or quals the parts don't get commingled.

Welcome to you, RCamacho214! You're in a good place here with the many well versed members and experts here on the Forum...
Can you let us know if the actual serial number on the left side of the frame in any way reflects the numbers on the right side?
There are numerous former California Highway Patrol 4006TSW pistols out in the commercial world where the right frame is marked just like your 6906 and their serial numbers match or reflect those markings...
My guess therefore is that your 6906 was certainly a departmental or agency issued firearm.

Okay then, my 6906 has C0100 on the slide, barrel, and frame like the OP's. What agency was that?

Thank you for your replies, I should have included that they do not coincide with the actual S/N of the pistol.

Good question. There's a 4006 on GB from the CA State Parks. The picture is a bit fuzzy, but it looks like it has a PAxxxx number.

Yours might be the Conservation Department, or some other state agency. Or at least another agency that has some sort of law enforcement responsibilities. At one time the State Police protected the Capitol, but they were absorbed into the CHP some years ago.

Rather than start a new thread, since we are talking about markings, I will ask here - if nobody minds.

I picked up a 5903 beater, to teach with. On the right side of the dustcover it is marked with laser etching "W/G.C.D.C."

I figure a Deparment of Corrections pistol. Any ideas from where? Thanks! Regards 18DAI
