When I bought my 3913LS from CDNN recently it came NIB w/2 mags (fingertip).. I wanted a couple of extra mags and bought them from CDNN at the time I bought the LS and when they came they were the FLAT base plate mags..

I thought I wanted fingertip extensions so I ordered two from S&W, (backordered), but in the meantime I put one of the flat base plate mags in the gun and found out I like them better than the ones with the fingertip extensions.

I use a FIST Kydex iwb which actually fits best in the "small of my back".. With the fingertip mags installed the "tip" tends to "print" whereas with the flat based mags it doesn't...

CDNN sells the flat base plate mags all day long for around $29.99 ea.

Give CDNN a call and order ya a couple.. Tell Neal Ray I sent cha'..

P.S. IF the "LS" mags are different from the standard 3913 then Neal can put you on the right ones.

Thank you Jesse.
Are you speaking of the black 1/4 inch thick base pads or the older thin silver metal ones.
I'm actually looking for the older style that are just a couple millimeters thin.
Take care

The magazine from the S&W 39, which has a thin metal baseplate, will fit in a 3913. However, it will protrude from the bottom of the magwell about 1/4 of an inch, effectively making them no better than the factory 3913 magazine with the flat plastic base.

I have been thinking about this as well, I know that there are some 9mm 7rd mags for the CS9 and the older TSW pistol. What if you took the 7rd body from one of these and put a 39 steel floorplate on it, would the magazine be long enough to fit into the 3913?

Sounds like your best bet may be to keep your eyes open for a pre-rail 3913TSW. They have a shorter, 7 round magazine (effectively a CS9 magazine), and the magwell is recessed to sit flush with the bottom of the grip.

That will accomplish the goal you're seeking, but you'll be sacrificing some capacity.

I appreciate all the help guys!
I'll have to look at some pictures of older single stacks and see if I can find what i'm looking for. The plate i'm looking for is like the older double stack floor plates.
Rogue, can you fit your pinky on that TSW?
Take care

I found a picture of a 39 magazine plate, that's the one i'm looking for. But you say it sticks out just as far as the thick black bases?

No, I cannot get my pinky onto the bottom of the pre-rail 3913TSW or CS9 (which both use the same 7 round magazines.) On a regular 3913, I can just barely squeeze my pinky onto the edge of the flat factory magazines.

And yes, the body of the 39 magazine is approximately 1/4" longer than the body of the 3913 magazine, but it has a flush baseplate. With the addition of the 1/4" baseplate to the 3913 magazine, they are effectively the same length when inserted in a 3913.

Check the middle mag out, saw this on gunsamerica

That's it! The one in the middle is what I want. I guess these were made this way at some point early in production of the 3913/3914 pistols, according to an old article I have around here.

I can't help you with a source for these, or manufacturing history, but I managed to scrounge four of them at a gun show a few years back 'just because'. I'm glad I did, because I haven't seen any since then. Those things are great for really deep concealment, but the eight round mags are more comfortable for extended shooting sessions. Good luck finding some...
