I have barsto barrels in my 1026 and 4576, they are great barrels, now wanting one for my super 9, they don't make S&W barrels any more, any barrel makers out there?

Jarvis does not.

I have looked high and low, and have not found anywhere that offers S&W 3rd gen auto barrels anymore. (except S&W of course...as long as it's not, say, a Recon 45...)

I know the Performance center can make you a barrel because a few months ago they made me one in 9mm similar to the recon barrel except it was sent to magnaport but I wanted a 9mm barrel just like the recon model.

first325:

Are you going to attempt to have a different bushing installed as well as a new barrel, or keep the factory bushing with a new bulbed barrel in the Super 9?

orangehole, I don't know if you're lucky or just good.

I sent my Recon 45 in for some work earlier this year and asked if I could buy an extra barrel for it. The answer was 'no way, no how, sorry. we don't have any more barrels'.

I've been trying to find someone who can make me a one-off, but no luck as yet.

Hammer,

Did you speak to someone at the Performance center directly. When I initially called S&W and got the customer service, a rude woman told me "No Way", we will not make you a barrel. then when I got in touch with someone in the PC, they said they could do it for me. If the performance center guys said no then that is another story.

BTW I would have to check my paperwork but I believe I sent them my pistol in Feb 07 and it took about 3 months or so.

Good luck

I called barsto and they said if they had more orders, they would make more, when I called S&W cs, they said no way, I left message at pc, but they are probably on the way to new mexico. Jarvis was a no go. My other barrels were fit to the original bushing, the barsto barrels being bigger dia, so I can still use the original if needed

Many wish that Bar-Sto would start making the for caliber and conversion barrels again for Smith and Wesson 3rd generation. I have the 40S&W conversion and it has been great and accurate. Now I wish I could get the 357 SIG (40 case necked to .356") and the 19 X 25 (10mm case necked to .356") to fit the 1006 10mm. Bar-Sto has the software for the CNC for the barrels because they were making them previously, so how hard can it be to tool up and produce them like they use to.

Bar-Sto if your listening let's get the ball rolling!

Thanks. To tell you the truth, I have yet to shoot it. I assume it will shoot like a pussycat being it is an all stainless frame and slide plus porting. I have been too busy recently to make it to the range

still looking for a barrel, can get a briley bushing, but nothing to put in it, this is very discouraging, I had high hopes for a nice super 9 project.

Maybe a stupid question, but can't Briley put a bushing around your current barrel? Is not barrel fit most of the issue when it comes to the accuracy of different barrels???

I have a Super9 and have thought about "souping it up" as well. I am therefore curious about what you are finding out.

the barrel for the briley bushing is straight, no cut behind the muzzle, that allows removal with the fixed bushing, nut much bearing surface with a standard barrel in a briley bushing, as I remember, the barrel for the briley is thicker od.

are there many people in the market for 3rd gen barrels? I need a 5" for my super 9 and so does my buddy, any others for 5906 ect, maybe enough people call barsto they would make more, performance center didn't seem interested in selling any or putting one in my super 9 for me

I would love an extended threaded barrel for my 4006 so I could put a can on it.

Well now that I got the S&W 1076 10mm, I am in need of a 40S&W conversion barrel for it. Again I wish Bar-Sto would start producing these for the third generation pistols.

While we are at it I love to see the M&P produced in 10mm with conversion barrels for 40 S&W, 357SIG, 19X25 but thats just me!

Smith & Wesson if your listening HELP!
