There ought to be an 8-round extended mag -- with extra plastic around the base so that it feels like an extension of the grips -- for the Bodyguard .380.
In pocket-carry, this would be a problem, of course. But most folk opt for Kel-Tec or Ruger .380s for pocket-carry, because the nearly-nonexistent sights on those guns prevent snags on the inside of the pocket.
The Bodyguard, with its far-superior sights, isn't really for pocket carry despite its small size. It's for low-weight, slim-profile holster carry. That's where it excels.
BUT, for that usage, a slightly longer grip and slightly higher-capacity mag would be better than the current 6-round mag.
You see, adding a couple of extra rounds to the magazine, and with them about 1.5cm of extra length to the grip, is not a problem. That much length doesn't fit in a pocket, but it conceals on the waistband just as easily as a 6-round magazine. It's a wash, concealment-wise.
But the extra length and extra rounds make a BIG improvement in other areas:
#1 - Secure, comfortable grip. A man ends up holding the Bodyguard .380 with only two fingers, which feels awful. Give the bloke a break: Let's have a bit more grip for the pinky.
#2 - Related to #1: Weapon retention.
#3 - Related to #1: Easier control of muzzle flip.
#4 - Related to #1, #3: More fun to shoot at the range; hence, easier to practice with, less likely to be sold as "not a fun gun."
#5 - Two more rounds before you have to drop your mag. Always a very good thing.
For those who want to carry in the pocket, the 6 round (without pinky extension) is fine.
But for those who put the pinky extension on? They're already making it tough to pull that out of a pocket in a hurry, just in order to get a (tiny) bit more grip. In reality, these folks would all be happier with an extra centimeter or two of grip-length, even if it DIDN'T come with extra ammo capacity. Throw THAT in, and they'll buy-buy-buy.
8-round mag. It's the hip accessory. C'mon, you know you want to. Give in to peer pressure. All the cool kids are doing it.
