Well, I have now put 1,000 rounds through my new 9mm shield. The magazine springs are loosening up to the point where I can load them without a loader if necessary. I have had two failures, both failures to extract with reloaded ammunition put together with range brass. I do not believe these were the gun's fault. The gun still shoots significantly low for me. I hope to fix that with a Hi-Viz front sight. I haven't checked the comparative heights of the two blades yet and may have to go to a plan B depending. IN the main however I am pleased with this pistol.

Thanks for the report. I have shot 2,500 flawless rounds through my Shield.

I did not have issues with my stock sights, but I traded out for XS Big Dot night sights and I have no regrets especially with my poor eye sight.

Congrats on hitting the milestone!
I just did the figures a week or so ago and found that in the 3yrs I've had mine (shooting weekly), I've put right around 7800 rounds through it.
(3yrs x 52weeks x 50 rounds minimum)

Yup... I missed a couple weeks here and there, but it balances out with the times I've put over 100 rounds per session through it. (classes, BUG matches, etc)

Still all factory parts too. I probably need to get me a replacement RSA.

Congratulations on reaching the 1K Rd. mark! I just reached that also! Went to the local range yesterday and shot about 70 rds.
When I first got my 9mm Shield, I couldn't hit the target at 5yds. Now I can get consistent groups of 3" at 7yds. Standing.
That is a great improvement for this 84 year old's tired eyes.
I think I am a point where I can increase the target distance to:10 yds. I have had my Shield now for 5 months.

My Shield just broke the 2k mark and my wife's is at about 1,200 and both have been 100% reliable.

I'm not a fan of the shields sights but they are good enough for CCW for me. I don't miss, I just don't get that ultra grouping ego boost.

The only issue I've had were two light strikes from the same box of whitebox ammo, and lately I've had the slide not rack back on the last shot occasionally (it fires and ejects but dosen't lock the slide). I've shot about 1500 through it. I'm not sure if its the cheap range ammo (blazer and white box) or maybe I'm just somehow gripping the slide release while firing. I personally think it might be the ammo.

One last minor annoyance is the 7 round mag is a lot harder to click in than the 8 round, and googling seemed to show I'm not the only one with this issue.

Over all I REALLY like the gun. Very glad I picked it up.
