Today in walmart Theresa heard a guy shout out at the pharmacy, $1,911 dollars? I will die before I pay that! Then as he was walking past theresa asked him if he had any insurance. He said no. Also said thats what they wanted for two perscriptions. She didnt ask if the pills were for him or someone else but told me he looked 30 ish and fit.
Sounds like he needs to knock off a filling station and get caught. He would be taken care of! Funny how a known illegal probley would get the pills for free. Whats wrong with this picture?

A man I worked for several years ago came down with bone cancer. He tried everything for a cure. He went to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and received experimental procedures.
One pill that he was taking was a little high...
$2,500.00 each!

He lived about 1 1/2 years after he found out he had cancer.

I used to know a woman a few years ago that was on that fen fen diet. (spl?) It done something to her heart and restportory system. I think they outlawed the diet. Anyway her husband told us that the pills to keep her alive was around something like $1,200 a day!!!!!
He was just a low key contractor we used around our house and rental for carpentry work etc. I dont know how they paid it or kept her in pills but I supposed they must have sued the outfit for medical or whatever. I dont know if she even is still alive. It was a shame. She was one of the most beautiful sweetest women I ever met. They were/are very religious people but she would get very exhausted and could only visit for a few minuets at a time.

Now how can you make a generalized statement like that? Single Males are not eligible for Medicaid. Medicaid does not pay squat and does not pay for unlawful or illegal immigrants.

Not say there is not a health care crisis in this Country but there are many many folks that have no insurance and can not afford the ridiculous prices on some medications.

I have insurances and can get medications at Wal Mart for less than my Co Pay, Publix gives free antibiotics.

As far as getting arrested and going to jail, then yes. We would probably pay for that. Heck we paid for a sex change operations for a guy in prison, but they drew the line on electrolysis for hair removal (not kidding)

I still have the EOBs from my late wife's cancer treatment. I have to keep them for tax reasons.:( $1900 is nothing. Some of the IV delivered stuff was up around $5k a pop IIRC.

My monthly IVIG infusion treatments are $30,000 each, so far it's been covered by insurance. We did have to contact the Departmant of Labor and conference called them with the Doctors office and the Insurance company because they at first denied coverage and after the insurance company was fined by the US Goverment for putting us on hold for too long they became so very cooperative and had me approved the next day.

She probably has/had the same thing I do. Pulmonary hypertension. Its no joke and treatment is expensive. I can't do much without getting extremely short of breath and tired.

I was the lucky recipient of 2 rear-end car wrecks less than a year apart. The first one fractured a vertabrae in my neck that lead to a fusion with metal (titanium) plates. The second one resulted in a closed head injury with severe migraine headaches. How severe? Well, one of the medications they gave me to try and stop the headaches was a liquid morphine mist that I inhaled through my nose. This drug is sometimes used as either anesthesia, or pre-anesthesia for surgical procedures...and it didn't work. They finally put me on a (non-narcotic) medication just for migraine headaches that was very effective. Even with excellent health care insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal) each pill cost over $28.00 each. When I complained about the cost of the medication to the pharmacist, she gave me a voucher good for one free pill. I laughingly told her that the voucher was probably to placate the a**, er, angry patient, and they probably filled it with the pills that had fallen on the floor. She didn't know how to answer me - frankly, in retrospect, I wonder how I'd answer an angry man with severe migraine headaches, as well. Luckily, the headaches stopped after a cryo procedure (they froze the occipital nerves causing the headaches) a few years ago. Though the remaining pills I have expired a year or two ago, I cannot bring myself to dispose of them yet. I wish I could trade them in for ammo, but the way things are going, how would I make change for each transaction?

Regards,

Dave

Few month ago I was watching Drugs Inc. and they showed people that sell perscription meds to party people. They had similar prices...

I never seen him, never said or hinted that he was single. I only said about three sentances of what I heard secound hand. Just who the hell is jumping to conclusions?

I meant to add, about 10 years ago I had a desitute dieing close friend that I was their care giver. At the time I lived in california. I drove the friend to both UCLA medical many times and also I think, olive view hostpital. Illegals getting free ade? How do I know? Because I spent lost uncountable days sitting with my friend daily in the waiting rooms and I would bet my house at least 85% of the other people were illegals!

Not trying to incite a run for the foil hats, but when drug companies can charge $1,000 --- $10,000 ---- $30,000 for a shot, pill or treatment, how excited will they be to produce a drug that cures ailments and eliminates the need for these treatments?

Cancer is BIG BUSINESS!

Bottom line. Prescription drugs are very expensive. Some are so high it's hard to believe.
Many Seniors have to get them from Canada as they are much cheaper. Once the drug goes generic it is amazing how cheap it gets.

If they stop paying the Pharm Reps such big salaries, stop taking the whole Dr office out to lunch, stop all the TV ads to have patients ask their Drs! maybe the price will come down??

Not to worry our Leader has great plans for us with O Care!

Some of my generics are NOT cheap, also.

Most of those practices are prohibited now.Except the TV ads, of course

I have Blue Cross, so I get off pretty well. Some of my meds are 10-50 per pill. So, I have no dog in the Obamacare fight other than the cost of those who don't have insurance is tacked onto my charges (hospitals have to make it up somewhere). Many people brag they don't have insurance and pay their own way. At those prices I kinda doubt them.

I take warfarin. Its the generic for comidin. Also a rat poision. I aint sure about those implications for me! Its cheap though and has kept me alive so far -----

I want to add, I understand the reason all medical and pills are so high, it boils down to the fact the ones that have insurance or personnal other means to pay, pay for the ones that cant pay. Its really just that simple.
Bottom line, doctors, hospitals and pill companys are going to get well paid no matter where it has to come from. Many hospitals shut down their emergency rooms when the goverment ordered them to have to treat the indigent. From what I have seen if people only went to a doctor when they really, really had to, it would cure the problem and prices would go down in the half way sane zone. I bet its usualy the very poor that gets on medicade or whatever that makes 10 to 1 visits to doctors and hospitals than the plain hard working bill payers do.
When I was a boy my folks were poor for awhile like most familys were right at the end of the war. My dad was injured and couldnt work for about a year. Mom had some cheap job but broke a ankle. I was mowing down a platoon of krauts with ma`s wringer on the washing machine. It was belt fed, meaning my fingers! The wringer squeezed all the flesh in my wrist up towards my elbow. I have a maimed looking wrist to this day. Anyway the folks couldnt afford exrays or doctors and the thought of welfare even if it was available didnt cross their minds.
They took me to a shoe store that had those X-ray scopes that you looked into to see how your feet fit in the shoes. They were later outlawed, I guess people were walking around with their feet glowing in the dark. Anyway they had me lay down on the floor and stick my arm in there looking for damage. I think it stunted my growth in certain areas.
