I finally sealed the deal and brought this beauty home. The box matches and it has a business card from the shop where the previous owner purchased it. Serial number C852XXX places it in the mid-to-late 60's, according to one of our fine members who was kind enough to look it up for me.

Thanks everyone. I already owned a square butt and wanted a round butt version. Now I have one of each!

What's the difference between a Model 10-5 with a 2" barrel and a Model 36 with a 2" barrel? I ask because I have been trolling for a Chief's Special.

It looks just like mine, I have the original box too. I love it!

Gunnut44,

The RB isn't quite mint, but it's pretty darn close. It may have had a few rounds put through it after it left the factory, but certainly not too many. I agree with you that the SB with the round sight is the better-looking of the two. The Tyler T-Grip really gives it that classic appearance.

I'm very fortunate to have found both is such good condition.

Thanks everyone.
