10 rd Long Mags shipped from S&W 1/18

I'm glad for you but my order was placed before yours (1/9 for you and 1/8 for me) and it still hasn't shipped. All I have is the order confirmation for two 10-round longs.

My order arrived today (1/24). So 16 days start to finish for me. Note: I never got an email from S&W saying that they had shipped, so I was surprised when they showed up on my doorstep today. But glad!

I ordered two on 1-12-13.
I received order confirmation that day, nothing since.
When mine show up (fingers crossed!) I'll let everyone
know.

My 3 magazines arrived today. Our mailboxes are at the end of our block. I looked each way to make sure nobody was nearby, unlocked the box, grabbed the package, ran to the car, hopped in, and locked the doors. I then drove down the block, pulled into the garage, and then closed the garage door before unlocking and getting out.

OK, I didn't really do that ... but I considered it. :)

I think I perhaps got the last, or close to the last, 10 round long magazines. Shortly after I ordered, they went "Out of Stock". I ordered them on 1/10, and received them today (1/27). I did remove the blocking pin tonight. I decided I had so many screwdrivers that I modified one for the task. I filed a V-shaped notch into the blade to help keep it sitting securely on the roll pin. I used a small rubber mallet, and I placed the magazine on a towel. I did not want to risk cracking anything. After about 6-7 moderate blows, the pin bent and fell out. In retrospect, I could have pounded harder, but as scarce as magazines are, I wanted to play it safe.

I like the blue followers, and if S&W makes more of these, I think I would order them again, over the standard 25 round magazines (assuming the 25s ever get produced again).

So what happens if a high capacity ban happens and people have the modified mags? Are those now illegal since there modified?

My argument would be that I purchased them before any Ban when it was not illegal to modify or own a hi cap mag. I dont know how far that argument will get me but I suspect a lawyer will be involved. Not that I own any modified 10 round mags. Just sayin.......

BTW- I ordered from S&W on the 14th and will post here if and when my order comes in.

Guns would be grandfathered in, but magazines are different. The legislation states simply owning them would be a misdemeanor. I recommend not discussing this on a public forum just in case. We all know how to remove pins by now. The mags say 10, but if you had someone counting at the range you could have trouble.

Kind of ironic that 10 and 25 round mags are sold out everywhere, but you can still get your hands on 50 round drums! :P
