The ten round short mags are available from Smith and Wesson. I got mine about a week after ordering. It worked just fine. The short ones are great for shooting from a bench when mag clearance is needed.

That's still a magazine. They are just calling it a clip to appeal to a broader customer base. Calling a dog a cat does not make the dog a cat.
Another example is the crescent wrench, originally made by crescent but properly named an adjustable jaw wrench. With the crescent name clearly stamped into the handle of the new (at the time) wrench it was easier to just call it by the name stamped into it. Crescent makes all kinds of other wrenches and other manufacurers make their version of the original adjustable jaw wrench. They don't call them crescent wrenches tho.

Dido, order the short ten round magazines fro S&W, I bought five of the ten round magazines from S&W in June.

The Short 10 rd magazines are great for teaching a short shooter...5 year old grandson. My grandson can handle the short magazine ... loading ten 22LR "cartridges", lock the magazine, and release the magazine, all the while grandpa is standing behind.

Side notes. The 15 -22 with the stock collapsed, fits him perfectly to shoulder the stock and aline the sights. The rifle fits him better then his Little Cricket or his Henry.

Also because of the weight, I attach my Grip Pod on 15-22 when grandkids shoot... it serves to support the rifle so the little shooters can focus on the sight picture and trigger squeeze. Because the Grip pod legs support the rifle it reduces the chance of swing the weapon in unsafe directs.

Aim small,

Phil....
Any thoughts to a STICKY for the "Magazine vs Clip" continued debate, banter, and discussion? Good for venting and educating.....
I just bought a case of 5.56mm ammunition. The "ammo" is boxed(30 rounds) with three ten rounds stripper CLIPS per box to load into my MAGAZINES with my GI issue loading tool.

Ah, the by gone days of This is my rifle, this is my gun....

If Cabela's says it's a clip then it's a clip! :D
I'll take a wild guess that the person writing that particular page simply didn't know the difference. The notion that it's a marketing scheme dreamed up by Cabela's executives to appeal to a broader clip customer base... well.. uh.. might be overthinking it just a bit. ;)

ps My dog is human. Any inference to the contrary and Pugsters gets very upset.
