Took mine to the range today.
Best 100 yard target, 11 shots.
Yep, I still need lots of practice before moving to 200 yards. ;)

Very nice shooting, I hope I can get that grouping the next time I'm at the range. So far I've only done a few 50 yds while sighting in.

Cheers

I am not KentB, but the scope base looks like the Burris P. E.P.R. to me.

That rifle does appear to be well equipped. Love that FDE furniture.

Yep, it's a Burris PEPR with a Nikon 4.5x14 Buckmaster scope.
I was shooting Remington 150 Core-Lokt PSP rounds.
I just received my Atlas BT10 bipod and replaced the Harris bipod.

Iron Sights!!

A true test of the abilities of the marksman and his firearm.
I'm working on extending my range to 200 then 300 yards.
I did sight in the back up sights at 50 yards.
I'll see if I still have the targets.
I was able to keep 5 round groups inside the bull.
No way with my old eyes I can still do that at 100 yards. ;)

I know the feeling.
In my younger days I didn't have a problem shooting expert scores while in the service and later during Highpower competition.
The problem with the AR platform in regards to open sights is the short sight radius.
As the eyes get weaker the front sight becomes very hard to pickup.

Have shot match rifles with 24, 26 inch barrels and the sight picture is perfect even with my old eyes.
But the cost has kept me away from purchasing one.

No doubt about it the AR is fun to shoot no matter what sight system you use.

My M&P does not care for 150 grain at all. 2" group about the best that I can do with that, even with hand loads (course that was when it was brand new out of the box with no break in period). It truly loves the 168 grain matchking bthp. Cut the group in half easily, and that was with a 3.5 power Trijicon and my old eyes, so a higher power scope should be able to do at least as good.

Great choice on the bipod. Took me a while to swallow spending so much on a bipod, but now that I have one, I will never go back to a harris.

Ok, I give up! What brand bi-pod is it? How's it different from a Harris?
