A couple of months back a neighbor came to me with a Doskocil pistol case in his hand. Said he needed some help. He was cleaning a pistol for a family member who wanted to sell it and got the slide jammed. He opened the case and I saw 1006 on the frame. "1006" and "sell". I knew the pistol had just made a one way trip. I could see that the slide had gone forward while the slide stop was not all the way into the frame. We took it out to my shop, braced the top front of the slide on the edge of the plywood bench top and I struck the back of the grip a couple of times with the palm of my hand. Done!
Then we got serious. He had the pistol, two mags, the box, cleaning kit and papers, a nice Bianchi thumb break clip on holster and a box and a half of Federal ammo. He said there had been a box and a half shot through the gun and it was easy enough to believe that. He gave me a price and I sent him back to get the box and ammo while I opened my gun safe, hoping I had enough "stash" money to cover the purchase. For once I was glad the gun shows had been cancelled due to the plague and I hadn't spent it.
