1006 Upgrades

Any recommended upgrades? I have had one for a while and it shoots ok but have heard great accuracy out of them which I am not getting. Barrel, Spring, etc? Any good Montana Smiths for these?

It will be my dual sport carry gun for woods riding. What other sight options are there? Tru Glo?

1006 accuracy

In general,I would not feel that something is wrong with your barrel,although I do have a BarSto in my 1006, and yes,there is a difference.I feel that the biggest difference in mine is(was) a trigger job by someone that has experience with those large frame models.To add to that I think a trigger stop might be the biggest accuracy addition of all.There might be some that are against that but I had mine done in the mid 90s and have had no problems and it went back to Smith at least once with that addition.I`m in Virginia so I don`t know any Montana smiths.Good Luck, John

I live in Billings, Montana and there are only a few that I would have do any work on a Smith. Your 4006 has a lifetime warranty because it is a 3rd Gen. gun so I would call S&W and have them go through it. I always ask them to make sure that it meets or exceeds S&W specifications in regards to safety. They have always taken VERY good care of me. Bet that they will for you as well. I have sent them both of my 4006's and they came back like a nearly new gun. One even had a cracked barrel that they replaced NO CHARGE..
