Hi all, I bought 2 boxes of Federal 10mm auto. They are 180gr. JHP. The box is marked No. 10C. There is a store inventory barcode stamp that is dated 7/20/91.
My question is, does anyone have any ballistics info on this load? I don't have any reference material that covers this particular load.
Thanks in advance, Steve

Steve, I thought I could help. Your post sent me scurrying down to the basement to look at some 10mm I bought a few years back. But it was all Winchester and Remmington.

The Winchester is 180 JHP, originally priced $8.99 per 20 rounds, but marked down to $5.99. I bought a boat-load of it at the time but now see I only have eight boxes left. Wonder what I would have to pay now, IF it was even available.

The Rem was also 180 JHP, $14.99 / box of 50.

Sorry this doesn't address your post, but thanks for brightening up my day. :D

I beleive that is loaded to about 1050 fps from a 5" barrel. UMC's FMJ load is about the same as is Federal's American Eagle. This is about 100fps over the 40 S&W's standard performance with the 180g of around 950 fps from a 4" barrel but hardly lives up to the potential of the 10mm which was envisioned as a 200g @ 1200 fps. That would make the 180g come out around 1300 or better.

I would have thought that since this was early date stuff (July 91) it would have been hotter.
