Being in CA, the concept of finding and obtaining an out of production S&W 10MM pistol was something I didn't put much stock in.

A few years ago while at a local LGS, a 1076 walked in the door wanting to be bought. Last year, a 1006 finally came my way after looking for one for almost 10 years and I thought, ok... that's pretty much it.

Well, last week I got my socks blown off by a 1066 turning up on Armslist that was within reasonable driving distance. Some minor handling marks on the side of the slide, but in great shape overall.

I picked it up today after the CA 10 day wait expired... my excitement is second only to the day I got my 4566 Melonite :D:D

Very nice! I've been hoping a nice 1066 would find me for quite awhile. No joy yet, though.

Very nice catch! Congrats Gunhacker!! :) Regards 18DAI

I hope to find a shorter barrel model one day to keep the 1006 company. Nice Score!

If you are patient, everything shows up when you list expect it ;)

Congrats on your purchase.

Thanks guys... I'll be pinching myself for days to come, checking it's not a dream. For awhile I've been reading on this forum about the mythical 1066, but to have one in my hand... wow.

It's nice to have a place to share my excitement... the wife just looks at me with a quizzed look and walks away shaking her head... the dog just wants it's usual treat handout and walks away shaking it's head. I don't dare saying anything to a neighbor, lest I get a visit from Homeland Security

All great pistols. My 1076 shoots anything I feed it from full power Underwood to some crappy LRN reloads I bought that I think used black powder (seriously).
