13-4 question

New guy question already. I have a 13-4 3" round butt that according to the special order number is from mid June of 1994, I bought it used. I read in my S&W book that in '94 the grips were changed to synthetic grips but doesn't say what kind (there were a couple other changes that year too). I have searched online for days and can't find out what kind of synthetic grips. I've seen pictures of a model 13-4 with several different brands/types like Hogue, Pachs and what I think were Uncle Mikes. Being pretty anal about correct grips I was hoping someone here has or had a 3" -4 version and could answer that question. I have some nice K frame round but magnas on it that look nice but I would still like to have the correct grips for it. Any help is much appreciated.

The 3" 13-4 would have had the round butt Uncle Mike's grips for the last few years of production.

What kind of stocks/grips came with the gun, and what code for them is on the label?

It had Hogues on it and there is a sticker that I can't get off without damaging the label where that info is. So I'm kinda out of luck there. I may work on seeing what's under that sticker today.

I was able to get the sticker off and where it says "stock" it has RB. There is a 007 below that. I took that as meaning round butt. I have no idea about the 007.

My guess is that means standard round butt Magna stocks. SG would be "synthetic (aka rubber) grips".

That sounds good, that's what I put on it as soon as I got it. I shoot my own mild loads so magnas are still comfortable. I'll most likely pick up some Pachs or Uncle Mikes too. Thanks for your input.
