This was a test to see what kind of things people would say about a situation like this, This is not real.

What the heck state do you live in where they allow a thirteen-year old kid to order a firearm? By your statement, it sounds like you had no control over the issue.

Again, one of the problems with today's generation...the parents have no authority anymore. Like the old saying..."The monkeys are running the zoo!"

I was 13 when I got my first .45 handgun. My mother signed the papers, of course.

The gun was a Webley MK VI at Montgomery Ward's. It'd been converted from .455 to shoot .45 acp and Auto Rim ammo.

I was 16 before I had another handgun, a Colt M-1917 .45.

No clue.
Seems odd and over dramatic.
Option A let the kid find out he can't have it.
Option B sign off on it and hold it till he's of age.
It's not like he found a case of sweaty dynamite in an abandoned mine.

I had suspected some sort of airsoft or replica myself. My children have numerous toy guns, some of them quite realistic or with names suggestive of real firearms.

In BP firearms, .44 is far more common than .45.

I honestly do not know what age you have to be, or are supposed to be, to order antique firearms. They are not subject to the gun control act of 1968. An original Colt SAA or some such would have meant saving a lot of allowance money though.

State laws vary, but I believe minor children can have firearms here, they simply need a note from the parent saying it is okay.
