$130 dollars and one and a half hours later....

Well you guys convinced me. I am gonna put in the order and give it a try. I am glad I don't have to press out the sights. Might be a week or two before I get to it. Will update when I do. Thanks for all of the input.

My M&P 45 factory trigger is just fine for me. I cannot justify the expense of an Apex trigger kit plus I don't have the confidence to install it.

I installed the Apex full kit on my 9c and absolutely love it. I bought my gun for 350 used. put 130$ into it for trigger, and 120$ trijicon sights, and now its 100% perfect. The joy of M&P stuff is there is a ton of aftermarket support to fit your personal preference.

It's just like a car. You can go buy a $50,000 Corvette and have a sick car out the box.

or you can buy a $35,000 Subaru and put 10,000 into it, and make it faster and better than the vet could ever be. and it would be more tuned to your liking / preferences.

The thing is, do you want to invest the time or effort to customize it?

People do sights, trigger kits, barrel mods, different grips, you name it. Not because another gun "could" of had that stuff already, but because they like the gun they have and want that gun to have that stuff.

It's just a personal preference

Side Note: The apex kit with 5lb spring feels amazing.

Work on a large white cloth. Some of the parts are small and like to run and hide. Really good at hiding in dark carpet or rugs.

I can also recommend working in the basement with a concrete floor. Anything drops, just grab your broom and sweep the floor.
The first time I installed Apex parts on an M&P, was upstairs in the darling husband's office. That way I could watch the videos and work on the gun at the same time. All fine and good until the sear spring went boing. That was a few years ago now. I still have no idea where that dang spring is. Luckily peeps on the forum helped me figure out what the part was called and where to get another.

I also have a PC Ported CORE. I ended up buying an after market barrel from Apex and having it fitted to the gun. While I am used to shooting a gun with a compensator, the ported barrel was spitting up too much junk and it was interfering with my sight picture during competition. I also put a competition sear and sear spring, trigger return spring and striker spring (though that was not really needed). All the parts from Apex. All this was done after shooting 500+ rounds through it to try to get the trigger pull weight down to what it was supposed to be (advertised at having a 4.5 lbs. trigger). After 500+ rounds, the trigger pull lightened 3/4 of a pound, to 4 3/4 lbs. Close enough.. I then added Apex parts and I have the trigger pull down to 3 lbs. The gun is running perfectly, and is a joy to shoot. Plus with the new barrel, besides being more accurate than the stock barrel, I can shoot it in either Open class or Carry Optics (I shoot USPSA).
