14-3 8 3/8"

Incredible price for a mint m14!!! Unbelievable!

Total score! You might as well shoot it since you bought it for nothing.

It will loosen up. Oil and range time!
Wow!!!

You did very well...I just looked in my records, and my 8 3/8" 4 screw target gripped 14-1 (shipped 3/1964) set me back considerably more than that...And I didn't get a nice N-frame presentation box with mine either...:o...Ben

Ah yes, but you got a -1. I bought the only -1 I've ever seen in the wild and that was a 6 inch. I suspect there are very few 8 3/8 -1s. We need to see pictures one of these days.

Probably dried lubricant from sitting for years is making it sticky. The remedy is complete disassembly and acetone bath for metal parts then reassemble and lube. Lube alone will help but will get stiff again after a period of time.

Well I didn't say I was unhappy with it being a -1, Jeff...I'm extremely pleased instead...:D

As for pics, my summer project of photographing all my guns was interrupted by that big wind that blew through here earlier this week (and no it was not one of those political big winds)...Power and internet were restored finally today, so I can get back to that project...When I get to that particular gun, I'll try to remember to post a few pics of it......Ben

I love this gun. I bought one years ago for $400, no box or docs and it wears magnas. My brother pestered me until I sold it to him for what I had in it. I immediately regretted it. I was lucky enough to find another a few months later for the same price, no box or docs on that one either. If you can't hit the X ring with this one maybe you should take up another hobby. You got the best deal on one of these that I've seen in a long time.

Took possession this week. The thing appears to have never been fired. The bluing is perfect and the cylinder is stiff to open and close. All the paperwork for the pistol is under the blue velvet plastic. The plastic is not in the greatest shape shape will send some pics soon. I don't even want to shoot it. The trigger and action are much stiffer than the 14-2 well used gun I bought. Lock up on each cylinder is extremely tight. The rear sight is adjusted very far to the left which is a little alarming.

Sell the case and the gun cost you about $300.00.

Definitely a shooter. Lots of 22s down the barrel will do nothing to harm it or show any wear. I suppose you'll get a drag line on the cylinder.

Here's the 22 WMR version, and it's had plenty of range time. Still looks pretty good -
