14-3 With Target Grips

Did they ever offer from the factory Target Grips on the model 14? All my research only lists the Diamond and Square Magnas offered on this series yet its listed as a target gun. Just acquired a 14-3 TT TH with a Behlert rear adjustable sight along with Pachmayer grips. I have both Square Magnas and a set of Target grips period correct to install but want to keep to an original offered configuration. Also looking for the correct factory adjustable rear sight. Any info would be appreciated

14-3s probably could have been ordered with target stocks, but magnas were standard. At some point in the era of the 14-3s, S&W more or less stopped taking special orders and started just selling various accessories like target stocks over the counter at gun shops. I remember seeing guns for sale back then with the 3Ts, but the majority were standardized with magnas, standard hammer and trigger, black Patridge sights, etc. Without a letter, it is hard to say your gun left S&W configured in a certain way.

Thank you for the information was not aware of S&W ending their special order options in the late 70s and going to add on options. I put the 14 in a period correct box and the grip configuration was relevant to the box I chose. Thank you again

I have a 14-1 made in 1961 that I purchased a number of years ago. It came with the original box with matching serial # as well as Target Trigger ...Target Hammer and Target Grips all listed on the box .

I purchased this 14-3 a few years back from a collector and it has the target trigger, hammer, and stocks as noted on the label. It was sold to me as factory fired only and looks it.

Yes Model 14’s were offered as full target guns with 3-T’s.
I have a couple of Model 14’s and one gun is a 14-3 and the other is a 14-4 and both guns are in original boxes and so marked with target hammer, target trigger, and target stocks.
Both guns have 8 3/8” barrels .
These are 2 different Model 14’s even though the background is similar.

I rarely shoot Magna grips on anything. It's all about target style whether S&W or aftermarket. That is what feels right to me! Bob
