15-22 10 Round Magazines???

I ordered two 10 round magazines for my 15-22 in early November; the finally arrived today!

They arrived in S&W packaging, part number 199240000 and are labeled ".22 LR Magazine - 10 ROUNDS"

However, when I loaded the magazines, I am only able to get 7 rounds in each of them.

Am I missing something??

Other than the slim possibility that the followers are inserted upside down, I don't have a clue. I have 15 of them with no such problem.

Just speculation here, but possibly they have a removable limiter in them that limits the capacity for shipment to NY. It's a stretch but could be the problem.

After posting, I checked the 25 round magazine that came with the gun and the follower is opposite of the new ones.

It appears that the followers are upside down on both of them!!

I will disassemble one and reverse the follower and update later.

You were exactly right, the follower was upside down in each of them. This is the condition that they were in when I received them and the packaging appeared to be factory fresh and not tampered with.

The QC department of whoever manufactured and assembled the magazines needs to up their game!

I received 4 of the 10 rounders from S&W today as well but mine are put together correctly.

I don't even recall when I ordered these lol. I want to say over a year ago

HELP? with locating some 10-round magazines for the M&P 15-22. PLEASE??

Could any of you help me locate a place where I can purchase some 10 round magazines for the M&P 15-22?

Sorry to ask what now seems to be an old question/issue.

Had I taken the time and done better research on magazine & accessory availability, I would have purchased a different rifle.

None of the usual places I use have them in stock. It's definitely been a slow recovery for mags, but stock will recover.

Old thread here(good fix in video) and still NO ten round mags.
*As of this post...CDNN has FDE 25 rounders, Midway has black 25 rounders but nobody has the ten rounders.
*I ordered the FDE ones from CDNN and gunmagwarehouse to use at the range for now. Hopefully some 10 rounders show up.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a few 10 rounders..... It would slow the ammo burn rate with the grand-kids!

Load them with seven or eight rounds a few times, then squirt 'em inside with some dry teflon lubricant. I've had mine going on three years now and can usually only load nine rounds. a couple will take ten, but NONE of them would when they were new.

Check joeboboutfitters.com. They seem to have the short 10 rnd mags in stock. I am a member of njgunforums.com and this source was suggested. I myself have never dealt with them.

Midway delivered the 10 rounders yesterday in short order. Very happy to have the shorter mags for bench shooting and hunting. Still very glad to have the FDE and black 25 rounders for the range and plinking. I am still amazed at how well this S&W15-22 performs in many situations. Very glad I got this one. I have NOTHING to say that is bad about this rimfire and I think everyone should have one. Love this rifle. Thanks to all of you that helped with getting one. THANKS!

FYI, the price for those 10 rounders WAS $19.99 this morning (see attached photo), but is now $23.99.

Perhaps the $19.99 price was for the mags with the followers inserted the wrong way (sarcasm)?
