Evening all. New to the forums as of a few weeks ago. Browsing every night, but this is my first post. I'm curious as what price is too high (currently, given the situation) for one of these.

I fell in love with them ever since I saw the first video review and have been actively looking on GunBroker and ArmsList, but to no avail. I stopped in a local sporting goods shop tonight and they had one in stock...for $700. Worth it given the lack of availability? My concerns are that: 1 - it might be a while before I see another one, and 2 - I *might* get lucky and stumble across one out of the blue for significantly cheaper.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Academy is still getting them in... At least here in texas. I got another one there as I stop in every other day or so to check ammo stock... They do not put them out on display but keep them in the cage. You must ask for them by name. They are $479 - $519.

The problem is finding mags and ammo.

I picked mine up last sunday at my local Gander Mountain for $499 the only problem is I live in NC and it is a NY state compliant gun so it has a fixed stock and 10 round magazine.

Well I know mags will be hard to come by (NJ - 10 round) unless I jump on a deal, but ammo is actually not much of a problem (so far...). My work driving takes me literally right by 3 places with a very decent stock that's replenished regularly. I'm stocking up with various calibers about once a week just in case the dry spell hits my area.

I found mine a couple of weeks ago @ Academy Sports for $499. I was told that they (Academy) get trucks every Monday, Wednesday & Friday but don't know what they're getting until they unload the truck. I got lucky.

Google Grices Guns in PA.. I ordered one from them on Monday for 480 shipped (with a flash hider) its currently at my ffl waiting for me to pick it up.. Guy seemed to act like they had several in stock... But that has been a few days ago..

Honestly, that seems a little high. I would wait and see if you could find it cheaper. I got one for 460 out the door. My LGS got around 14 of them in a few weeks ago.

Just my opinion, you should do whatever you feel right with. They are a blast to shoot, and I'm glad I pulled the trigger on it (he he). You just have to decide if it's worth it or not.

Paid 439$ for mine plus tax 7% but ut doesnt have a flash hider kinda wanted one with then 3 days later i found one at academy for 499$ plus tax with the FH.........Now i wish i had waited!

Paid total of $665 for a Black MOE... at around MSRP.

Believe it or not you can still find deals on GunBroker if you know how to effectively search and bid. Stay away from using common search terms like 15-22 or M&P 15-22. Fortunately some people do not how to advertise a sale or spell correctly. Search using 1522, MP1522, 811033, 811034 or 811035. Last week I found 2 auctions that never got a bid for the length of the auction and was able to purchase 2 MOE versions for $549 each. Other auctions were selling the same rifles for up to $300 more. Utilizing the same tactic I have seen non MOE models 811033 go for as low as $459 in the past week which I think is pretty good in today's climate. You need to find auctions that others miss.

Finally, once you do locate a rifle do not bid until the end of the auction. If you bid early - a person will surely counter bid which just drives up the price. The best times to search I have found is late at night or early morning - especially early Sunday morning. Good Luck.....

I honestly don't mind spending the money if that's the going-rate in my area. Normally I would, but given everything that's going on, even though I don't particularly like it, I accept it. I'm going to my local range tomorrow night for some quality with with my M&P 40, so I guess I'll see if they received any. Thanks for the feedback:)

Check below this thread. There's a thread with a link to 10 rounders at Tactical Vantage. I think they are Promags though. Decent price.

I got my 15-22 in January from Grabagun.com $435 with shipping. A1 comp model with flash hider. They come in and out of stock, get on their product notification list.

I live about an hour from Grices Gun Shop in Clearfield PA. They are a pretty big shop and must have good connections, because they seem to be able to maintain a lot of stock. I bought my shield from them back in Oct. My brother in law was in there 3 weeks ago and said they had 2 stacks of Ruger SR9 & 9c's about 4ft high.
Was in another shop 2 weeks ago that had a 15-22, MOE version for $599.99. That was at Elk County Ammo & Arms in St Marys Pa. Their number is 814-834-9318.. Grices number is 814-765-9273. I bought my 15-22 at Bobs Army/Navy, also in Clearfield,PA. Bobs number is 814-765-4652. There are still plenty of decent dealers out there, NOT charging $700 for a 15-22, so make some calls. I paid $430 for mine on Dec. 18

$700 is way to high!

Don't pay that much! I just bought one for my wife and paid $475. Look around and you will see. Where are you located? Definitely check out all your local gun stores for prices. The M&P 15-22's are starting to shipped out. Good luck!

15-22 mags (10 rounds)

Check out www.tacticalvantage.com.. They just received a few thousand in. They are limiting orders to 30 mags per person. I just bought 10 for myself.

As much as I love the 15-22 I say don't pay $700 for one. It is up to us to say no to that kind of markup and look for those dealers that aren't trying to fleece people. I picked up one at Academy in early January for their normal price. Be patient and do some searching and you will find one for the right price. You will enjoy it more.

During the beginning of the frenzy I felt was looking for a second 15/22 and got one on GB for $537 which was pretty good as the standard model was going for up to what you are looking at. When I opened the box I found I got a better deal than I though as it was an MOE... If you keep your eye out you should be able to find one about $500 now. No way I would drop $700 on it, there you are moving into nice bolt gun territory...

A1's are on Gun Broker for BIN $499 + shipping. That's still $70 more than they were a few months ago, but not too terrible.

As others have said, they are much cheaper if you hunt for them. If you are lazy like me, buy it at Bud's. They have the threaded barrel model for $599. All you do is pick a local dealer from their extensive online list to have it shipped to, and when it arrives there, they do the transfer paperwork.
