are there are competitions for these guns, as there are with hand guns, where you run around and shoot steel targets?

Im located in lawrence, ks and just looking for something to enter in and have some fun

Yes there are, mabe not specifically for 15-22 but there are organisations that hold shoots. I couldn't tell you where for your area but usually the best places to fins out about local events are your local gun sellers and outdoor sporting goods retailers. They usually know about stuff like that. Also search the web for local shooting forums. Like here in Cali we have calguns. I'm sure theres similar ones for your state and mabe even city.

Search for "three gun" competitions - usually steel targets with handgun, rifle, and shotgun

nice, ill take a look into them, i did a google search of gun tournaments and shooting matches in kansas but it didnt show anything but clays and shotgun stuff, there were some long range matches, but nothing with the steel targets where you move around and engage

Search on "Appleseed" on this forum and you will find some interesting shooting match info where you can use your 15-22.

found them, thanks for the info, looks like there is one in Eureka kansas in august, but only one per year , hopefully someone hosts something that is either a couple times a month or monthly

Try here. US Practical Shooting Assotiation. They have pistol and rifle and 3 gun. You can search for clubs in your area/state. Then you should be able to find more info.
