15-22 & Suppressors. Who is using them?

Just saw in another thread that a stripped upper can be had for $20. Wonder what parts they would let go? I would love to have a separate upper some day for a permanently attached silencer on a shorter barrel with an overall 16". But then again, the non-suppressed would prob just collect dust!

Seeing as how CT doesn't allow threaded barrels on a weapon with 2 other "evil features" (pistol grip and removable mags), I was thinking something like this might be cool someday.
Perm attach a 6.5" silencer to a barrel cut down to 10". No SBR and no long silencer on the end of the barrel. Fits nice under the hand guard too! But like I said, this would be way down the road.
Can a permanently attached suppressor be adequately cleaned?

no offense but permanently pinning a can to a rifle isn't practical or the smartest thing to do. i suppose if it were a take apart it would work but you would be stuck with one weapon, one can.

In Connecticut, anything not permanently attached to a threaded barrel is illegal - AWB requirement. Here the AWB applies to .22s, as well as centerfire.

if you're going to do a sbr, you might as well go with the tactical innovations built in suppressor. especially with needing the 16" length in CT.

I'm in the process of obtaining a Sparrow. It was either that or the Spectre II. Decided to go the newer route. I just bought a M&P22 pistol on sale. Nice little 22 to play with plus use as host to Sparrow. I also have to get two barrels cut & threaded......Buckmark cut to 4" and a Ruger 10/22 cut to 16-1/8". The three hosts should give me enoug variety.

Waiting with Three

I went with the SWR Spectre II after doing a lot of research. I have 3 hosts waiting for my can when it gets out of the safe at the local gun shop. I have the M&P22 pistol, the M&P 15-22 and I had Tornado Tech do the threaded barrel on my Beretta Bobcat 21A

I wish there was a way to reduce the bolt noise, and also the trigger reset. I believe it's the trigger reset. Not sure on that but I watched a video of myself and I could hear the bolt and then a click from the trigger. I messed around with a buffer but it didn't work well since it limited the travel and the LSHO feature failed to work due to it.

Only in movies will you get totally silent. Lubing seems to help reduce the bolt noise. Or maybe I'm just imagining that

You can get close with a .22, but for totally "silent" you need something that doesn't automatically eject cases and reset triggers. My friend's bolt action .22 is pretty much the definition of silent. But you only get the one shot. When you work the the bolt the noise comes back.

BUT this noise is generally not enough to alert your target.

Damn crows and their good hearing.
