Ummm, that makes no sense. A -3 Combat Masterpiece would not have a 6" barrel. At that time, the only options were 2" and 4". Are you sure it isn't a Model 14-3?

I want to thank everyone for the input, I'm going off a list of nine different Smith & Wesson revolvers and there has to be a mistake on what was written a wrong - # or maybe barrel length was wrong.I will ask seller again and will post the correct information.

N I B 15-3. 4" barrel

After another conversation with seller the 6" barrel was a mistake and the 15-3 has a 4" barrel. He wants $750 which I thought was a little steep but I haven't been in the market for a 15 but always admired them. I have a 13-2 with a 4" heavy barrel which is one of my favorite all time Smith & Wesson revolver. Any input on current market prices would be appreciated. Thanks again.

Perhaps full fare, but I don't think that the seller is being unreasonable. If I had that gun,I'd want that much as well.If I wanted one,I'd also pay it.

They don't make 'em anymore, for whatever that's worth. I would put 6 $100 bills on the table and then be prepared to add one or two more $50s - very slowly - if the seller got stubborn.

Well, they don't make them, but more importantly it is NIB, so it's a collector item you're paying for. The LGS got a few hundred correction officer trade in model 15s two years ago and blew them out for $225. So, if you want a shooter and not a collectable, I'd recommend looking around for something cheaper and uglier and more fun at the range.
