I just picked up a 17-3 and was wondering if anyone knew the year it was manufactured? The serial number is K9609XX. Thanks.

The 17 - 3 was made from 1967 - 77. Great shooting revolvers. Maybe someone else knows closer dating than that.

About 1970, but could have shipped the following year. According to serial number ranges published in the SCSW, K946392-K999999 corresponds to 1970. So you can say no earlier than 1970, but some guns sit on the shelf for a while, they did not ship in order, and there is no guarantee when a particular gun has shipped.
