Took this 19-3 out for some exercise this past w'end. Participated w/it in the local club's falling plate match. As far as time I didn't stand a chance against the race guns or even semi-autos for that matter. Accuracy was a different story, quite pleased w/it.
While cleaning this 19 this morning got to thinking how my taste in handguns has evolved over time. Got back into shooting in my mid-40's due to taking a small arms weapons course for work using the Berretta 9mm, so semi-autos was where I started. Stumbled into some nice S&W's, 41, 952, 845, 745,...
Started noticing Smith revolvers about the same time I got into reloading, N Frame .41mag and .44spl rang my bell big time (still do). While searching for these I came accross several K Frames, 19's and 66's, that were just too good a deal to pass by. I actually picked up a few thinking one of my buddies would want it. They didn't. A couple weren't even broken in. Would take the K Frames out occassionaly and over time my attraction grew.
A 3" 624 or 657 is massive power to me while a 19 or 66 snubbie has an elegance thats hard to put into words, very pleasing to my eye.
Don't know where I'll evolve to next, pretty certain the label will be S&W.

PS Perhaps someone will find this helpful. When my wife started expressing concern about the number of guns I was aquiring I told her "Honey to a guy these are like jewelry is to a women." Light went on in her head, have heard very little since then.

I have a pair of Snubbie 19-3s my self. Neither are in as nice a shape as yours. I know what you mean about beauty. The P&R K frames with a 2.5" barrel, the ramped front sight, and a round butt just seems to be the perfect balance of practical and beauty.

Have a snub M19 and a short M66-5.
Very good guns. The M19 had an action job and is the
smoothest DA and SA revolver I have. (Some 57s and 657s are
really close).

Haven't shot them since an evening
going after steel plates late this summer.
Should do something about that soon.

No!! the jewelry analogy would spell doom. Can we amend it to stockings or pot-holders?

Yep. I love mine too!

Argggg!! Black guns on white backgrounds seldom works, too much contrast. I see it all the time on GB, frustrating to see little but a silhouette.

Wow! I guess I goofed up. I didn't realize a towel was the required background. Mine is shown on a book and a target. Do I have to take my pictures down???

I just don't have a target that I'm that proud of yet! Or a nice old revolver book. So, the towel it is. :D

No way man! The pictures that you posted are good.

I just feel better laying a gun with a nice finish down onto a forgiving surface.

Doesn't matter what color towel as long as it's 100% American cotton.

All of you guys revolvers are quite beautiful. That combined with how much I love my 30-1 J fame, just makes me want to buy more older S&W wheel guns. Now if I only I could come up with about $2000 for I could get caught up on bills and buy one to more revolvers.
