Hi: I have a mod. 19-4 that has a strange problem, at least to me the action and timing are both nice and tight and smooth when i had it apart to clean it/ check it over, the yoke on the top surface when it is closed where the cylinder rides is rough and thereis a little play between the cylinder and yoke is this normal? or do i have a problem. as i say the rest of the functions seem to be fine and the thing doesn't appear to have been fired much but who knows? you guys would know alot better than me John

A little play is normal.
If you want it tighter you might stir up problems.

First exactly which way is the play? Forward and back is easily fixed. That's called either "yoke end play" or if it's only the cylinder "end shake".

Side to side or rotational play is tested with the trigger held to the rear. If excessive that could be tightened up but requires more expertise in replacing parts or stretching the frame around the cylinder stop.

<or stretching the frame around the cylinder stop.>

You are kidding right???? If not, please do explain this operation. I've used those Power Custom oversized cylinders stops on occasion with good success. That said, I'm not sure exactly what the OP was referring to.

No, I'm not kidding.

If the stop cut out has too much slop, side to side, there is a way to make smaller the opening in the frame around the cylinder stop, without welding.
What they do is with a tool like a dull punch strike in 4 places (4 corners) around the opening where the stop fits. In doing this the metal around the stop gets stretched a few thou and this will tighten up the stop fit inside the stop window.
So, if the stop has too much slop, causing the cylinder to wiggle side to side this will cure it.

It will leave 4 prononced dents in the bottom of the frame window. Look at your reworked guns, if you see four dents at the bottom, that is what they did to cure a lose fitting stop.
