I posted this on the Colt Forum and I thought I would put it here as well. Just something nice to look at.

This old 1903 had an amateur refinish job on it some time ago, and while cleaning it, one of the grip panels broke. Well the gun has already lost any collector value, so I had it professionally Dura-Coated by a Lauer Weaponry certified shop (three tone black) and installed some Eagle smooth rosewood stocks. I also had them install a Wolff spring kit in it while it was apart. The gun looks and feels great in my hands, and shoots like a new gun. I feel just like Humphrey Bogart. The grips fit perfectly and the Dura-Coat job they did was first class. It turned this old beater into a great shooter. I have another 1903 that I would never mess with the finish on.

Good looking pocket pistol you have there! :)

I love the Colt Pocket Model M. I have several, but I also had one refinished and it's now one of my favorite shooters. I had this one bead blasted and then professional application of duracoat in shade of OD green.

Very nice. Since you're from Arkansas did you have Dave Gordon or 2nd Ammendment Customs do it? Or someone else?

I used to be stationed at LRAFB.

No, I had SALBO Arms out of North Carolina do it for me. He's refinished several guns for me, but alas, he passed away from a heart attack last year. He always did exceptional work too.

Never heard of Dave Gordon, where in Arkansas is he out of?

Gordon is in Mayflower and the other guys are in Rogers. My guy here in Cummins, Dick Ruppert says they have to undergo Lauer's training to be certified. They do great work. They take those guns all the way down to complete their work. Prep is everything.

REALLY Nice Looking! Saved that one from being a parts donor.
Had an "old" 1910/55 Browning like that, couldn't bear to see it that
way. All blueing was gone, and was so beat up, that it looked like 1910.
After prep, and a blueing by my gunsmith, it now looks the way it should. Nice shooter, too, just like your Colt.
You deserve points for that great salvadge job. TACC1
