1911 made by "Singer"

Please PM me with his Name, address and Phone number.

I am going to jump in my helicopter with a suitcase full of cash tomorrow. Like the guy on that Colorado Gun Shop TV show.:D

I can pick a few of you guys up on the way and after we get a ridiculous low price we all go shoot stuff that blows up.:D

Don't forget a couple bars of silver.

I'll bring a drum & pound on it while everyone looks serious & dramatic...:D

OK, you win. Tell your brother I'll trade my pair of consecutive numbered nickle Raven 25's, BUT he's got to put up $100.ºº to boot and pay shipping.:D:D

I believe the Rock Island Auction coming up in Sept. has one listed. This is a "BIG" auction, and the people with money will be bidding. Check there afterwards and see how much it brought.

I'm skeptical until I see pictures of the actual alleged Singer. I think someone may be pulling our legs.....Or...it's a fake...

I know of a dealer that has a Singer, has matching numbers and original singer mag. I dont know all to much about them and paid little mind to it, but I did see the price.

Id guess he does not want to sell it and the price reflects that at a mere $85,000

Does it include the box and shipping?

Looks like this gun could use a refinish!

With 500 Singers produced and fetching those kinds of prices, I wonder what one of the North American Arms 1911's would go for?....They are even more rare, with only 100 or less manufactured in the WWI time frame. Don't recall the exact year or quantity, but I believe they were manufacture in Canada for the US Army, and are much more rare than the Singer.

"Hey bro? Look. About that Singer 1911 you've got. Some guys on the internet are really interested in having a look at it. Can we get some pics?"

"Sure, no problem, bro. It'll be awhile though. I was putting it back together and scratched the frame with the slide stop. I wasn't really crazy about that shiny blue finish anyway so I sent it out to BoxyBlackTactical.com. They're gonna put a nice flat black ceracoat and some adjustable sights on it."

;)

I admire your brother for his position on the gun. I wish I didn't care about money, but my landlord would not like that. Plus I like to buy stuff. However, I can't believe you only offered him $100. You said it seemed to check out, and even if it doesn't, you liked the gun. Man are you cheap or what. Show up with a nice new 1911 and some real money. Better yet, tell him what it might be worth and ask for some of the money for finding the info for him. Do something other than insult him with $100. Nobody would sell any gun they liked for $100.

What, $100.00 is 5 figures.

I remember reading that the 100 NAA pistols didn't even have serial numbers.

The NAAs were numbered, just not to US practice. The main visible serial number is on the left side of the slide just behind the serrations. The frame is numbered under the grips and the trigger is numbered, but may either show or not.
None were ever delivered so they are not actually US military weapons and somewhat disregarded in spite of their rarity. Condition of the few in circulation tends to be rough, too.

There's one that will never make into circulation

About 10 years ago, I had the opportunity to visit the Pattern Rooms in England as a guest of an MOD Policeman, where they have just about one of everything. In addition to the Schmeisser SMG with barrel that shoots around corners, I got to handle a North American Arms 1911 that they had there (with white gloves on, of course). I can't remember whether the serial was 43 or 47, but it was marked as Jim indicated. It was also missing the front sight. It may no longer open to even special tours, to my understanding - what a real shame.:( It really is an amazing place!

the last singer 1911

sold at Rock Island Auction went for 160k plus 10% buyers fee if i remember right.
