Well, folks. I introduced you to my new to me 1917 that is a little rough, but still a sweet piece. I was doing some cleaning and I noticed that the cylinder wasn't releasing very easily and had to take a bit of pressure to move it while pressing the latch forward. When it would lock up completely, the cylinder release latch would move freely back and forth and the hammer would not move.

It wasn't this bad when I first got it. Keep in mind, I haven't opened it up for a good cleaning. Could it be something else, though?

I had the same situation occur. With the cyl. open. is the bolt flush with the recoil shield? With the cyl. open, depress the center pin at the rear and determine that it is flush with the front of the extractor rod? Was that clear.
Pls re-post with results. Or, ignore me and pop the plate and go to work cleaning with a brush and rag. Best.

I appreciate it, guys. I'll take a closer look when I get home from work. I haven't had a ton of experience with wheelguns, so I thought I'd ask.

Well, I feel like an idiot. The ejector rod had backed off. I tightened her down and it's good to go! Much appreciated, folks!
