Just got a new Shield 2.0 in 9mm yesterday morning. I've been a pistolero for decades. Never owned a S&W somehow.

Anywho I was in the market for something really small to carry. The Glock 48 looked good, and I'm really interested in a P365. Never cared for Glocks but that was mostly due to the blocky grip frame and I figured maybe a slimmer version would be OK. The SIG I don't know if they've fixed the initial issues it had at first yet.

Yesterday morning was in a well stocked LGS and asked to look at the 48 and a Shield 2.0. Well, the 48, despite being a single stack, still felt like a Glock to me. Less Glocky maybe, but still the wrong grip angle and I just don't like it.

The Shield, despite it's ugly proportions felt pretty good in the hand. Points like a real gun, not a Glock. The reviews have been great. The price isn't bad, Talked the salesman down a little on the price and left with it.

Went straight from there to the house and stripped it down for a quick cleaning and to the local indoor range. This thing shoots better than a 3" sub 20 oz 9mm as a right to. Put 150 rounds through it yesterday and went back this morning for 150 more. Shoots great. Eats whatever. It puts Hornady 124gr XTP +Ps in impressively small groups. Handles fine at full speed for such a small light gun. Disappears under a t-shirt.

I like it.

I just picked a the 2.0 Shield L/E package , night sights,3 mags in 9mm I like the Shield and it shoots great I ran maybe 75 rds today 115,124 ammo no problems . I traded a 1.0 Shield for the 2.0 plus cash .

I was tempted to go for a 1.0 because of the price difference. I got a decent enough deal on the 2.0 though I think.

I have the G-48 and the Shield 2.0 9mm, and I find that they both have their positive good points. I also find the Glocks in general to be blocky, but the G-48 feels great in my hand, unlike other Glock models. I like the fact it gives a full hand purchase, 10 +1, and a 4" barrel for superior ballistics. However, my Shield will be grabbed often when I am just running out for a quick errand, and will ride comfortably in its IWB holster. Personally, I have no intention on getting rid of either as they both have their purposes.
Thank goodness for options!

I think we all know the Glock is a capable platform. Just saying. They'll never feel right in MY hands. I've shot over 100,000 rounds through 1911s and CZs over the last 3 decades. They point instinctively and feel so much better in my small hands.

I do think a Shield with a 4" barrel would be perfect. I can get "almost" a full hand on the Shield with the 7 round mag in it. Half my pinky on it. I can work with it. Like I said, small hands with short fingers. It seems to actually help when shooting the little guns.

My Shield/LE model has taken over EDC from my G43. I own many Glocks and with the Hogue Handall Jr. Beavertail grip sleeve the G43 is pleasant to shoot. I just shoot the Shield better and I find it more comfortable to shoot. I did not like the V1.0, too slick and a crappy trigger. But the V2.0 solved those issues for me. It conceals well and the extra rounds are a plus.

My Shield 2.0 has a Hogue Handall and an Apex kit with the OEM trigger. Really didn't need the Apex, the 2.0 trigger is pretty good but I really like the Apex reset. Couldn't be happier.......

You made a great decision going with the Shield! I carry a Performance Center Shield 45 and absolutely love it. I'm incredibly accurate with it, more so than any other 45 I own or have shot. It is just slightly larger than the Shield 9 or 40, but I can still conceal carry OWB with just a thin tshirt.
