I would expect the rate of compliance to such measures will be about the same as the actual compliance rates for the so-called 'assault weapons bans' enacted in recent years. Last I heard, the actual rates of compliance have been estimated at no more than 15% to 20%, which means that 80% or more of the population will fail or refuse to comply. Yes, those folks are taking a significant risk (facing possible prosecution for felony charges), but this should be instructive for the elected and appointed officials attempting to enforce such bans.

Seriously, if a given state has 100,000 citizens possessing banned items (large cap magazines, bump stocks, or whatever), and only 15,000 to 20,000 voluntarily comply with the bans, that still leaves 80,000 to 85,000 newly created criminals. Does any state have the means for arresting, detaining, trying, or incarcerating an additional 80,000 people? I think not.

More than ever before, now is the time for people to band together and share resources to fund legal defense efforts and legislative initiatives. Those who would strip us of our rights can easily pick us off one at a time, but no state has the resources to handle large scale peaceful civil disobedience. Just 50,000 like-minded people each contributing a $100 bill would immediately create a $5,000,000 fund to fight every inch of the way in the courts for anyone who is ensnared by the system. No guilty pleas, no plea bargaining, no compromise, every possible legal method employed to make each case a legal nightmare for the state(s).

Creating new criminals is exactly what they want. We are criminals because we don't blindly follow their beliefs and edicts.

Remember: Gun control has NOTHING to do with guns, it is only about CONTROL. They are indoctrinating our youth to hate guns, basically to hate anything they don't like or anything that does not follow their twisted beliefs. They are also indoctrinating them to "see something, say something," which sensitizes them to turn in "us criminals."

People on "our" side frequently speak about the slippery slope, or death by 1000 cuts when talking about the anti-gun people. That is their tactic, gain control little by little. BUT keep in mind they want CONTROL. Gun control and making us criminals is but one more arrow in their quiver that they are using to take over the US and make it like their enlightened European (read socialist) countries.

WE have far more to lose than our guns and the opposition is following in the footsteps of the German Nazi party.

Amen, brother!

Isn’t the ghost guns made from 3D printing?

"Ghost guns" generally refers to firearms manufactured outside the licensed manufacturing business. Under federal law it is perfectly lawful for an individual to make a firearm for his own use; however those making firearms for sale to others must hold the proper FFL and comply with record-keeping and serial numbering requirements, etc.

In recent years there have been a number of sources offering partially completed firearms, commonly referred to as "80%" complete parts sets. These may require the drilling of a few holes (for which a jig may be provided) or some other minor processes before they become usable for the intended purpose. Again, a person purchasing and completing one of those kits for personal use is generally committing no crime under current law. Gun control advocates refer to such firearms as "ghost guns" because they are not recorded by any manufacturer or dealer as a firearm.

Pick off people one at a time is how it will work. Put one person in prison for the rest of their life and confiscate all the property and kick their family out on the street. Everybody else will fall in line.
It will be hard to get people to contribute to a defense fund for someone they don't know. Look at how many gun owners won't pay dues to the NRA or a local gun rights group and if they are members will not give any money during the year when the NRA or the local group is raising extra money.
I think I'm more a realistic than a pessimist. Larry

I totally agree that we need to band together and fund some actions to combat this, as here we are Preaching To The Choir, which won't get us anywhere.

Living in ct put a fork in me we’re done. No ar15 allowed will only make another semi auto be used to hurt people.

I wish they buried the newtown shooters body upside down with his butt sticking out of the ground so I could go there and kick him in his butt. Dam punk.
