Model 625 demise?

That is an interesting conversion. If I liked the long Colt cartridge, I might consider it. As it is, there is nothing the 45 long Colt can do that can not be duplicated with the 45 ACP, in the same revolver.

I shoot 255gr slugs at 1100-1150fps out of my colts. I don't think that would work as well using acp brass. I have a pretty good stack of both 45 acps and colts. Most of the acps are set up with 4" or under barrels and most of the colts with 4-6 1/2" barrels except for my revolving carbine. which has a 18 1/2" barrel.

The reason I setup a cylinder this way for one of my 325s? Because I thought of it and I could

I have several 25-2s so I took one and rechambered it for .45 Win Mag - I didn't intend to shoot full winmag loads in it but it was meant to shoot heavy bullets to about 1000 fs - I have a C&H Swage and used 300 gr. bullets swaged to .452 - using 296 or H-110 I got it to 1000 fps withn no pressure signs (6.5" barrel), it will still shot .45 Auto Rim and .45 Auto in moon clips but not without the clips.

I had to fashion a new front sight since with 300 gr bullets it shot 6" high at 25 yards with the sight cranked all the way down.

I did "prove it" by firing some Winchester 230 factory loads - no problems but I'm not going to stress it that much.

I have a 1937 Brazilian contract version of the S&w 1917 . 45 auto rim works perfectly and can be reloaded to +P pressures.

This is an old thread but I want to add my 625 JM. This was one of the last of the 625s offered and was a replica of one Jerry Miculek used in competition. Jerry liked a serrated trigger and I found it to be a torture device. I replaced the trigger with a nice smooth wide case hardened S&W part 228700000. I did a bad job refitting the hand and so had to replace that too. Now it's nice to shoot and no sore finger. I also removed the lock with a kit from TK Custom, and then added one of their spring kits. Great company to work with. The green dot sight sits on a mount from John Allchin. Of all my revolvers this is probably the most fun to shoot. I'm not quite as fast as Jerry though.

Hello, Sir. After you installed the safety delete, was there an open gap beside the hammer? Thank you!

Me too!

The only non ACP revolver is the nickel plated Model 10-6, upper left. The rest are all ACP. And there are more since this image was made.

Kevin
I was wondering about the second one from the top. That is an incredible number of 45 acp revolvers, as well as, the most Tyler t grips I have seen in a photo. Thank you for the showing.

The only revolver in 45 L C is the m25 there’s no 45 acp. And a few more N frames are gone too. Well have to watch if they do short production runs in the future. You would think they would offer two cylinders one in 45 LC the other in 45acp? I would buy one in a heart beat. The second the sales and demand falls off the gun manufacturers seem to drop the hot potato. I hope the revolver market picks up sales wise. I think the plastic pistols have peaked.

Ruger offers there Blackhawk in convertible, in 357/9mm, 40 cal/10mm and 45acp/45 LC,
.451 vs .454/.455 grooves?

If you are asking about the nickel plated revolver with ivory stocks, that is a Model 10-6 that photobombed the image. Actually, the image was taken to show my non walnut stocks. That image is predominantly elk with a set of ivory, a set of curly maple and a set of caribou.

That is an incredible number of 45 acp revolvers,…

I have specialized in S&W ACP revolvers for many decades. I have more.

As for the grip adapters, I have many more of those, from all the manufacturers, Tyler, Pachmyar, S&W (both types), Mershon, and BK. It may be an ancillary collection to support my ACP revolvers. The same with my smooth Magna style stocks.

Thank you for your interest.
