Model 625 demise?

If Smith would put out Lew Horton Style with 3" one piece, full-under-lugged barreled versions with Goncalo Alves "Combats" (sans hole's always) they would sell like 5gallon buckets of water in hell... 4" barreled full under-lugged versions too.

Even though I have three 45 wheelguns, my favorite is now my 610 4".
Thanks a lot. Just when I have my collection how I want it now you've got me thinking I need a couple 10mm revolvers. This revolver addiction truly is progressive. And expensive!

Realizing I hi-jacked this thread from 2011. But my question remains unanswered. Does anyone know what year Smith stopped making the 625?

As far as I know it was late last year or early this year. I think S&W sent a notice to their distributors that it was a discontinued model but I don't recall when that was.

I just got a 625-6 5” the other day. I have been wanting one for years. I’ve shot it a few times, I just got a supply of moon clips in (Rimz and Ranch products)

Can’t let this thread go idle!

Been on a tear lately adding to my 625 and 45 acp revolver collection. This includes another 625-2 model of 1988, a 625-4 5” NIB, another 625 Mountain Gun NIB, and a LNIB PC 625-8 :) each were under $800. I was blessed to come across an estate sale at one of my LGS and the prior owner was a stainless n frame aficionado. I’d like to think we would have been good friends if we ever met before he passed.

Question for the experts, while adding some new wood stocks for the 2 model of 1988s I have, I noticed different roll mark placements on them. Both are BEC serials and the numbers are close to each other, however one has a small roll mark under the cylinder release and the other has the large roll mark on the side plate. Did one precede the other? Photo for reference below (as well as the PC because why not).

Thanks in advance

Love seeing all these 625s. I have a 625-6, Model of 1989, 5" bbl with gold bead dot. Can anyone provide a source for the red ramp front sights?

I am glad I got mine when I did. I like .45 A.C.P. in revolvers and pistols. Recently got a new Blackhawk 45 convertible . I use Rimz poly moon clips with the 625. Of course I have some metal clips and tools also. Bob

Just got some 45 ACP rounds - not enjoying loading full moon clips and likely will just keep using 45 Auto Rim brass.

My 625 really likes 255 grain cast and 6.5 grains of Longshot.

Get you some RIMZ polymer moonclips, loading and unloading 45 acp is super easy and convenient.
