You could be right about not holding 5 rounds of 45 ACP but pressure? The 69 handles the pressure from 44 mag so 45 ACP would not be a problem.

Cutting more metal out of the cylinder reduces the hoop strength. Apparently enough to make it iffy.

Just got some 45 ACP rounds - not enjoying loading full moon clips and likely will just keep using 45 Auto Rim brass.
My 625 really likes 255 grain cast and 6.5 grains of Longshot.
