I bought this Friday for what I consider a very good price. (I can't remember if it's against the rules here to post $ so I will refrain unless told otherwise).
I don't have the gun in hand yet or the s/n but l believe mid to late 40s early 50s?
Is the box correct?

Congratulations on a great find! It's getting hard to find Any Kframe for less than 7 bills any more so I think you did very well.

Now you need a fedora and a trench coat.....

Good deal, Erik.

Everything is correct.
I have two round butts, a '49 and a '54.

With advice from some members here I bought the same type gold box for the '49. I was told it wasn't unusual to ship the round butts in 2" square butt boxes.

Hey Mike!

If you got some pics can you post them here?
Thanks!

Erik, I looked at my files and the pictures I have of my c 70,000 series round butt 2" K frame with non matching gold box are too grainy to post, although I probably posted them here years ago. It may be time to take some new photos.

Here are the first pics. Serial numbers in the SCSW says in 1948 numbers ran from C1-C223998. But then start up again in 1952 at C223999. So were all numbers in that range made in 1948 and sold until they ran out in 1952 and started up production again? Just wondering why 49, 50, and 51 aren't mentioned.
This one is C123398

The gun is super clean other than a bit of a drag line and a small nick in the finish on the cylinder. It's very faint but the box is numbered to the gun.
