2 S&W dob's, model 37 & 469

I have two S&W's I am trying to date. The first is a model 37 Chief's Special airweight, .38 spl ctg, 5 shot, 2" barrell, rounded butt and original grips, s/n 281738. The second is a model 469 semi-auto, 9mm with 3.5" barrell, 12+1 capacity, D/S action, s/n A877571. I would like to find the build and/or factory shipment dates of these guns. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

According to my copy of the Standard Catalog:
Model 37
1957 117770-125000
1962 295000

Model 469
1984 A875000-?
It would appear that your Model 469 is just prior to the introduction of the 3 letter prefix serial#'s.

Thanks for the info. I'm surprized the model 37 is that old. It is really in very good condition.
