I am hoping to drop more than that. I want to get rid of 60 pounds or so. I have to be able to chase a toddler around.

Xfuzz,

I'm going to give up my fear of going to the doc and get a check-up. Let's just say, it's been a while and the missus is not too pleased about my obstinance.

I've gotta drop a few lbs, too. Guess I'll have to give up my salty mistress: Planter's peanuts. Woe is me.

Chris

From a pack and a half a day, I'm down to that in a week. Might just manage to give it up completly for 2011 with the help of electronic cigarettes. Yeah I'm still getting the nicotine, but none of the tar and smoke, morning cough is gone.

Nothing I am after all~PERFECTION so why would I want to stop doing anything? :D

But being serious....I weigh 185 at the heavy end (now, during the winter, probably 175 at most in the summer) I don't drink, smoke,or do any drugs I also refrain from chasing whores and am otherwise really boring.

If I give up anything I may cease to exist!

Chasing the toddler is how you'll lose that weight, friend! :D

I'm planning to cut back on the booze a bit and would also like to drop a few inches from the belly... Switching to a day shift like a normal person, and that ought to help with both!

My old dad used to talk about the time that he gave up smoking, drinking, gambling, and chasing women, all at the same time. He swore that was the worst 45 minutes of his whole life.

I learned a lot from my old dad.

Apparently the goal is to die healthy!

After doing it since the late 60's I quit smoking (yea me!) 14 months ago. Don't miss it a bit. Now and again I'll feel a twinge but I recognize it for what it is, laugh it off, and move on. I use the money I save to buy pants for my fat butt. I did put on about 30 lbs and that's my New Year Resolution.

Seriously I've saved a significant amount of dinero. In Ohio Camels are $5.50 a pack. At 1-1/2 packs per day times 365 days that's over $3000 a year. THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!
I should be wearing Armani ...

I don't make new years resolutions, but one thing I would like to give up is living on my own without the company of a good woman and the attentions of a bad one.

I'm gonna drop 20 lbs, get a hybrid bicycle for all our new bike trails just opened in the Memphis area. And I'm gonna stop putting things off (but not until New Years Day)!

Happy New Year!

Roger

No resolutions, but I would like to drop just 6-8 pounds and redistribute some of the ones left. I need to drink more and chase women more. I need to lighten up when I'm in traffic.

This past year I bought 6 pretty nice old Smiths - I'd like to at least duplicate that in 2011.

Oh yeah - the weight thing too - 20+ lb would be great, but more would be better.

I hear you. :D

My plan is to give up about 5-hours/week I spend sitting behind a desk - especially during nice weather - and try to add those 5-hours into my meager outdoor time allotment (doing something other than working).

I have a near-new bicycle with only about 300-miles on it in the last 5-6 years. That has got to change. When I was younger, it would have 9,000-10,000 on it by now.

I also need to plant some trees to replace some old spruce planted by my Grandpa and me when I was just a kid. They are old and ratty looking now. It will be hard cutting them down. :(

I'm gonna give up making excuses for not getting out to the range.
I plan on throwin' a lot more lead this year.

Since I don't want to dissappoint myself and since I'm already 77 I'll probably just keep doing what I like. Now thats a win win situation.

Well, I'm only 76, but I like your attitude. I refuse to give up my cocktails before dinner, my brandy before bedtime, and my 5 pipefuls of tobacco per day. My doctor understands that to me this a quality of life issue, and I accept all consequences.
