I saw the Response video. Looks nice, but as I have the FPC and am very satisfied with it, it's just another 'new' model firearm without a compelling reason for me to buy it. It will be a good seller for S&W.

I bought the FPC because it folds. Without that feature, I wouldn't have bought it.

As the Response is 9mm and doesn't fold, I'd rather have an AR15 for the money. Recoil on the FPC and a AR15 is so similar as not to make a difference to me.

I haven't heard the price for the Response.

I haven't seen a real price but according to the S&W website the MSRP is $799 for the Response, $140 more than the $659 MSRP of the FPC.

Both s&w carbines might sell for 80 to 100 dollars less at a good high volume gun shop .

Our AR9 is really a fun gun that we can enjoy on our handgun range and helps to stay sharp . But we are apt to grab our home assembled AR15's.

They missed an opportunity to put a folding stock adapter on this. Add that and it's an interesting option out of the box.

For my use case, there's no reason to grab this over my FPC which is kitted out to my specs/use case.

Someone in another forum mentioned anti-gun groups were protesting the new gun before they even knew what it would be.

They weren’t protesting a gun; they were protesting Smith & Wesson opening their facility there.

It looks like that $699 is MAP. Locked&Loaded has them for about $38 less.
