22 Handguns

Everyone needs at least one .22 revolver and one .22 automatic. Don't get me started about .22 rifles, I'm just as passionate about those too.

Here's a few, an 18-2, 1 8-3, a couple K-22v Masterpieces, a 48 and a 63. Not shown a 34-1 and a High Standard Derringer

I used to collect pre-War High Standards and compete in a local Bullseye league with "modern" semi auto High Standards, but from the gitgo I've always had one or two 22 revolvers. Right now a 1948 vintage K22 goes to the range more often than my remaining semis.

I get excited about .22 handgun threads, there could be an arguement that if a person was to own one handgun...I think it is an ultimate outdoors gun for trail or as a companion to the rifle or shotgun afield to camping and fishing, backwoods motor-biking, mtn bicycling, you name it-it is a winner in many ways for most folks...I have and love
Model 34 with 2"

Model 617 with 6"

Ruger LCR dao 2"
Hi Standard Double 9 with 5.5" blue .22 mag
Hi Standard Sentinel blue 6"
Browning Buckmark 5.5" slab bull bbl in blue
I think that's all of them other than an RG 3" .22 short that cost me 6 bucks lol...
And I have to edit that I forgot that I have a mint Colt Peacemaker convertible with 6" in blue…and I acquired a 7.5" n.o.s. Buntline bbl for it but haven't installed yet….this is identical to the 1st handgun I fired in 1976 when I was 10…killed many many gophers in Montana with it along with rabbits and birds…was my Dad's only handgun and the biggest regret from parting from any firearm was that for me…so when I found a mint copy a few years ago, the $750 didn't hurt as much as the earlier loss…
Cheers for the mighty rimfire! Maybe an S&W outdoorsman if the stars align for me one day!

Well, in the past I owned a High Standard target pistol, sadly stolen from storage when I was between addresses. I gave away two High Standard 929s but, maybe, I'll have to look, the 4" might have come back to me. But I have quite a few .22s, anyway:

Walther P-22 with Gemtech suppressor

My lady has my other Walther P-22. That's why I think I have the 929 because I think she gave it back to me. :D

Walther PPK/S .22:

I have a matched set, NIB, of a SIG Sauer Mosquito (no picture) and a GSG Firefly (also no picture). Same gun, as you all know.

NAA Mini revolver .22 Short

That mini-revolver is NIB, too. I ain't firing that thing.

Then there are these 3:

3 Ruger .22s - Single Six .22 Magnum - Old style Bearcat not modified - Single Six .22 not modified

I have always liked .22s but I don't play with them much.

I have a few of each - but the semi-autos outnumber the revolvers 2 to 1

Semi-autos: Beretta 21A, Erma KG-68, GSG 1911-22 conversion, Iver Johnson TP22, MAB model G, Sig Mosquito, Sterling 302, Stoeger STL-4, S&W 2214, S&W 61-3

Revolvers: High Standard W101, Rossi M70, S&W 17-2, S&W 34-1 2", S&W 43 3"

Currently have 2 Hi-Standard semi's in 22 lr. A Citation, and a Supermatic. Both have original boxes and paperwork . Looking at adding a S/W model 17, or 617 down the road . Maybe Santa will drop one off, LOL !!

Since early 2020 the vast majority of my weekly shooting has been rimfire handguns and rifles. Am original owner of most. Of note is the '48 K22 that my Dad bought shortly after returning from overseas WWII. I installed Volquartsen internals in the two Mark IV's. The 1.8 lb triggers coupled with the Ruger design yield unparalleled accuracy from my shaky hands. The 18-4 is finally getting shot more regularly now. What a gun!

Two 24-3's, one 3" the other 4" and a 624 6.5" barrel. only 357 I have is a Colt Trooper MKIII, few 38 specials and two 45's. I'm electronically challenged, me and electronics don't do well with each other. Frank

Rimfire revolvers outnumber the automatics 4-3 here. Two Ruger Mk IIs, a 22/45 (Mk II) and a Single Six. S&Ws include Models 63, 17-3 and 617-6.

CLASSIC12 for the WIN. 😎

I was going to drag out my motley group of .22's for a picture but after seeing his I said to myself…….why bother. 😳

I have several favorite 22's. I love them, and more so as I get older. At the range these days, three-four magazines with my 9's and 45's, a few cylinders with my 38/357's or 44's, but at least a hundred rounds if I'm shooting my 22's.

K-22, pre 1947. Bullseye hitter.
617-6, 2019. Also a bullseye hitter.

Then I have the collection.
American Arms PX-22. A Walther TPH copy.
Ruger Charger
Ruger 10-22
Ruger MkII
Ruger Single-Six
Ruger Single-Ten
Ruger Wranglers (2)
And a S&W M&P 15 with a 22LR conversion kit.

Glad I have a lot of 22 ammo stored away.

All my 22 handguns are revolvers:
17-6 22lr 4 and 6 inch
648 22 mag 6"
Diamondback 22lr 6"
