I just found (actually I bought it on the spot) a 34-1 snubby. It's in 98-99%% condition. But no box or papers. Serial is 131XXX.
I just got it from someone who wanted to sell it in a LGS. They wouldn't give him enough so I walked out with him. Looked it over and gave him what he was asking...$300
I usually research more before I buy but this was one of those moments were a .22/32 kit Gun in that condition seemed like the right deal. It dates from the late 1960's.

I took these with my phone so they are grainy.

Edit: Now that I have it home I am really happy with this. There is no turn line at all. It doesn't looked to have ever been fired and the grips number to the gun. It must be from sometime in 1968. In 1969 they went to the M prefix and in 1968 they deleted the diamond grips. SO it is right at the transition of the 2 changes.

You did really good, around here that's at least a $500 gun, maybe more. Doesn't even seem to have a turn ring. Congratulations.

As the old saying goes, right spot at the right time. Sure am glad you didn't pass up on that one. If you don't like her I'll be glad to let you make a quick $50 profit. My wife would like her.

You did very well, mbliss57.
And good for you for walking outside with him before you made your offer. This is proper courtesy to the gun shop.

Here's a photo of my pre-model-numbered 2" Kit Gun. I paid a little bit more for mine than you did for yours, but I'm certainly happy with it.

Didn't even have to work for it. I had to buy both of these in Dec. for $700 and sell the 36 for $400 at the Lakeland show. I already put half a Wally box through it, took better part of an afternoon 6 at a time. I would have kept the 36 but I have the j frame .38 niche pretty well covered. Joe

Sweet deal. You must be living right to walk into a situation like that one.

I don't yet have a postwar kit gun. let alone a two-incher. But stories and pics like yours make me think I ought to try to remedy that sad situation as soon as I can.

Congrats on a great looking 34 and a great deal too. I also just picked up a 4" 34-1 recently. They are really growing on me. I can't wait for the weather to improve so I can go shoot it.

You certainly won't be sorry when you do. It took me a lot of years after I first shot one, to finally buy one. But I love it! One of my grandkids will probably end up with mine, because I have no intention of ever selling it.

Nice revolver you got your hands on there mbliss57. Original model kit guns with any barrel length are getting very spendy, especially guns in that condition.

Very nice pickup for a great price. You did very well as those things just do not show up for sale very often.

I have a couple of these models, both from around 1970. Here is a pic of my blued one. My nickeled one is just as nice and I paid more than you did for each of them. Both of mine are still in their original boxes, though.

Really nice deal! I paid $400 for my 2" 34-1 and was happy with that! It is in similar condition to yours, with the stocks numbered to the gun. I agree that you showed proper courtesy to the shop owner by going outside. I would not have let that beauty slip away! Here's a pic of mine:

A couple of weeks later I found a 4" nickle to go with it, but I had to pay $449 for that since it had pearl stocks:
