22lr at Cabelas

went to cabelas yesterday in Hoffman Estates Il. just west of Chicago for a Door Buster sale., along with 300 -400 people. 1000 rdn boxes of Win. M-22 were available for awhile then they had 2 full skids of Blazer 500 rnd boxes, 1 per person. Went for the 1000 but was happy with the Blazer. Seems like all those that waited for the door to open whent away happy. While at check out 20 min. later, the cashier said they announced they were all sold out. It was all very orderly. People were patient and polite,and orderly. Compliments to Cabelas for having it well organized. 4 people behind the counter passing it out.
Was at Cabelas 3 weeks ago,missed 500 rnd Blazer then by 10 sec. Saw a guy take the last box. Unanounced sale, no crouds.

I remember when a brick of 500 high velocity was $9.99. Those were the days.

I went to the Lacy WA Cabellas store for that sale was there at 0645 and already 100 people in line got my box of m22 and a few others after me did. out of m22 by 0805. out of blazer by 0815. lots of folks who waited got no ammo. I think they handed out rain checks

I saw 100 plastic boxes of CCI .22 LR at a gun show in St Paul yesterday.
They were marked at $20 per 100.
I laughed at the guy and kept on walking.

The 1000 round Winchester .22's were advertised here in a 5 hour sale for 44.95 with 5.00 off of the 49.95 price. Jeff

So, how do think Cabelas gets all that ammo? Gun shops and ranges are starving. I've seen people go to the range to shoot and are surprised at no 22lr and sometimes no 9s. It's great that the range isn't crowded, but they too are loosing business.

The Cabelas in Buda TX has been putting out 22LR (Winchester and Blazer) 2-3 times per week. You just have to be there at the right time. It's gone within the hour.

I went to the same sale in Thornton, CO and didn't even turn into the parking lot. The line looked 5 miles long and didn't feel like waiting for 22lr. I'll get some sooner or later. For now I'll just keep shooting my 9 and .45, which I can get anytime now.

I luckily snagged a Winchester 222 box from Cabelas on Saturday. The guys were just putting it on the shelf, and grabbed the third last box. Paid $14.99 and was happy with that.
Since last year I have managed to accumulate about 12,000 rounds just from Cabelas. I usually buy it online, and pick it up in store. Haven't shot much of it, and not sold any. Hopefully this snow melts and I can go shoot some up.

I found a Wal-Mart in Texas with 550 count federal 22lr in stock. Hanging out with a friend checking out the Texas Wal-Mart's idea of an assault rifle, a man asked the associate for 3 boxes of 22, but they had a 1 per customer limit. Overhearing the conversation raised the flag so I jumped at accidentally finding 22lr in stock. Each of us bought one and my friend sold me his at cost so it worked out fine but they were sold out of 22lr by the time we left. The next day I found another box of 100 count 22 shorts in Oklahoma.

And if you don't understand why I was observing the people of Texas then I was in Oklahoma the next day, know I'm a truck driver who lives in Georgia. I simply don't spend 48 hours in the same state.

yea but some places are selling 22lr for as much per bullet in my opinion.
