I've spotted a 6.5" 24-3 for 1100 and am not sure if this is a good deal or not. It has 3 t's but no box or papers. The auction sites seem to be all over the place and I don't know much about the 24s let alone the 24-3 variant. What does the brain trust say?

Not a bad price. I just sold my 6.5" 24-3 on this forum a few months ago for $1200, but it was probably unfired with box, docs, tools and all. That said, I could have probably gotten a couple hundred more if I were patient. I doubt you'll find one for much less than $1100. Kinda depends on how much the box and all means to you.

The 4" and 3.5" 24-3 and 624 are more sought after,
The 6.5" is a conundrum unless you handload .44 special.
For what they cost you can buy a P&R model 29-2 that also shoots 44 Magnum.
The early 5 screw 6.5" pre 24 is a good investment, the 24.3 is way less desirable.
They do shoot nice but so does my 29-2.
