Question: are 25-2s set to operate at certain ranges from the
factory? The reason I ask is I recently got two of them, both
95%+ guns. I have not had time to do much with them until
yesterday. I loaded up some 230gr RN cast at 700fps/ Unique
Both guns shot excellent groups of bags at 50'. I would say
identical, but were both 3" hi at 50' with back sight bottomed
out. I plan to shoot 185 WCs and that will result in higher point
of impact. Is this normal? My 25-5s I had no trouble tuning but
they are sighted for 40yds. I want to shoot bullseye at NRA
Targets. It looks to me like I'm going to have to get a higher
front sight, unless I'm doing something wrong.

Mines got an aftermarket fiber front site, and when I bottom out the rear it hits over a foot low. My front is really tall though. I'm very surprised yours is so short, but it may be a common thing on the 25-2 for all I know. I shoot 230 rn at about 850 fps, and it shoots awesome.

Don't forget, 25-2's were bullseye guns which is shot using a 6 o'clock hold on the black. That may account for your 3" high groups.

Adios,
