I have seen both Partridge style and red-ramp style front sights on 25-2's with similar serial number ranges. The red-ramp ones usually have a white outlined rear sight also. What type is considered factory standard? Was the red-ramped ones add-ons or factory special order? Thanks for any info on this subject

The 25-2 was "standard" with a Patridge front sight blade on a ramp base with a plain square notch rear sight.

My first 25-2 was a RR front sight and liked it because it was a little different. It definitely doesn't seem retrofit. I presume it was just a much less common front sight option, as the Patridge is the classic bulls-eye sight.

25-2's are wonderful guns. I am glad to own one.

do you think then the red-ramp sights were special order or retrofit?

They were factory original, probably a special order. I had one a few years back. Mike Ventrino had one he frequently showed pics of in magazine articles. They are not real common, but they are out there.
