25-5 4” blue..,

Here’s my 4” 25-5 that I bought brand new in 1988. The roll mark on the barrel looks pretty much like the one in the original post. BTW, I paid a little over three bills for it back then. So, I think it was a good investment and NO, it’s not for sale. 😁

I recall MSRP was $282 or something similar. I had four, two nickle four inchers, a blue six inch and a blue 8 3/8 inch.

It wasn’t an auction. This was Cabela’s and it was a fixed price.. if they bought it for less than that.. then that’s the price I want to get it for!!!
To sell at $1000 they bought it for $300 to $500. It was likely inherited and the seller got cash.

Some people don’t realize firearms appreciate in value. They think like cars the value goes down when you take it home.

Beautiful guns, but, to this dinosaur, .45 Colt belongs in a single-action or a Colt 1909.🦕

I need to meet some of those folks.
I have a friend who picked up a really nice 29-2 8” recently for $400 because nobody else wanted it, the seller knew.
They probably had no idea about gun broker and didn’t wanna take it to a local shop. This was also California.

In Idaho the local newspaper classified section has Guns For Sale. You can get a great deal especially if you are the first to call.

Most people who want to sell and run a ad will be reasonable.

This one was my cousin's duty gun. He was a Chicago cop "back back in the day". Notice the conspicuously placed book. Frank Goff relates a story in one of the chapters about a shoot out him and my cousin were in where cuz took care of business with with his 25-5. Chicago PD 1-Bad Guys 0😎
