27-2 6” OCD dilemma.. decisions to be made…

I haven't had a revolver reblued because I'd be less inclined to shoot it. I prefer my 'shooters' with character and honest wear. And, my 27's dont go out as often as my 28's either. That's just me. I have had one matte stainless gun, a 629-2 Mountain Revolver, bead blasted to remove nasty finish wear and rub marks. That one gets used quite a bit.

I agree. I returned a .38/44 HD 6 1/2” to have it reblued.
I was told by customer service they would do the best they could at trying to make it look original but wouldn’t guarantee it.
Well, it came back reblued but the finish no where near matched the original.
I still have it as it’s an example of the rarer 6 1/2” HD, but is in no way a collector gun

That's still a real pretty HD with desireable barrel length. A keeper, for sure! Was it a WA State Police or other LE agency?

The bluing might not be as good as the original bluing was, but the seam on the side plate on a refinished revolver is spectacular from what I can tell.
