OK.....when cocking for SA fire, my 27-2 will occasionally hang up. It will just lock up about halfway through pulling the hammer back and will not cock. If you open the cylinder and move to the next chamber it will cock and fire all six SA as it should. When cycling it empty, I cannot make it malfunction....only when loaded.

I can't isolate the problem to one particular chamber....it seems to do it about every other cylinder full no matter what chamber you start with.

DA is smooth as butter....not an issue to speak of......incredibly sweet in DA. The gun is as new, unaltered and clean as a whistle inside the lockworks, with only about 500 rounds through it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

One idea is check the cylinder stop (that button on the bottom of the frames window) to see if it is pulling down before the cylinder starts to rotate.
If this is it, your timing is off, but it's correctable.

A common problem is the ejector rod is loose. That or a bent crane. Any excessive wear on the recoil shield? And if so were?

My bet would be the cylinder stop is not being retracted enough before the hand begins to rotate the cylinder. Usually, it does not matter if it is loaded or not. There could be other reasons as well, such as high primers, or maybe a burr, or bent extractor rod, or dirt/burnt powder under the extractor causing the cartridge head to rub against the face of the frame.

Good luck.
