28-2 period correct stocks/grips?

Just curious about period correct stocks for a 28-2. I don't have it yet but it's wearing ugly rubber ones. I will not receive it for a few more days. Serial number is N275xxx. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

28-2s were normally shipped with Magna stocks, unless on special order. A good many after shipment target stocks were put on them.

Here is my new to me 28-2 with and without the rubber grips/stocks.

Looks nice. With a 6" N frame the Magna stocks seem a bit small to hang onto all that weight, so the Target stocks may work better for you. Enjoy!

These magna's are matched to my 28-2. The revolver shipped 11/62. It is an S prefix.

Those are perfect! Looks like you didnt have too much trouble finding them. Both my 4" and 6" S-prefix models came to me wearing the correct-era target grips. They fit my hand well. I'm not sure if they originally shipped with them or magnas but I'm not complaining.

Any pics of your forum namesake? We love 3rd gens here too!
