I saw a CZ over and under yesterday that was labeled with a 3" chamber...

I knew that Winchester used to make the model 12 in 28 gauge with a 2 7/8" chamber...

I tried looking for 3" 28 gauge shells...and I did find some listed in the Fiocchi catalog in their premium tungsten alloy "Tundra" offering.

Anyone tried a 3" 28 gauge?

I have a NEF 28 ga that I shoot alot. I was unaware of there being any 3" shells around. I will be curious to see if anyone has tried them.

I have two boxes of 28's for my browning model 12. Winchester 1oz load 2 3/4 inch and federal 3/4oz load 2 3/4 inch. i didn't know there was a 3 inch load in 28.

I called Fiocchi...

Yes, it is listed in anticipation of a 3" 28 gauge by a manufacturer, but didn't say which manufacturer. It's listed with having up to #4 shot 7/8oz of shot.

They didn't know that CZ is already making a 3" chambered over/under. I don't know if their double guns have 3" chambers though.

Andy,

Man O' Man.. that would seem a interesting setup... I looked at the 28 in a side by side CZ and didn't pull the trigger on buying it.

Seems like that would be a heck of a shotgun for bobwhite to partridge....

Keep us posted!

I'm not trying to post too darn many times in the same thread...

But, I just stumbled upon this in the Fiocchi catalog that I got...

And I've been lusting over one of the new Ithaca 37's in 28 gauge ever since I handled one! I have got to get one of those this fall!

I have a wonderful little Darne sliding breech SXS in 28 gauge but it's not 3" I don't think I'd want to shoot a gun as light as that Darne with 3" shells.
